Free At Last! Family Of Sudanese Woman Sentenced To Death Drop Charges Against Her

With the charges dropped, Meriam Ibrahim will be free to leave Sudan

A lawsuit brought against 27-year-old Meriam Ibrahim, the Christian woman sentenced to death in Sudan has been dropped.
According to Reuters, Meriam’s father who is Muslim dropped the lawsuit to formally establish her as his daughter.
The move could clear the way for her to finally leave for America where her husband, Daniel Wani, is a citizen.
Ibrahim was sentenced to death in May for Adultery and Apostacy. Her conviction caused an international outcry which made an appeal court overturn the charges, but her father still maintained a legal case arguing that she belongs to them and the Muslim religion.
Meriam Ibrahim was arrested after a family member turned her in to the authorities accusing her of adultery because she married a non-Muslim. She was sentenced to death while carrying an 8-month-old pregnancy and gave birth on May 27, 2014 while in prison.
