Another Air Disaster! 47 Feared Dead In TransAsia Airways Crash

A TransAsia plane is reported to have crashed on the outlying Penghu island, Taiwan after a failed emergency landing

At least 47 people are feared dead following a failed emergency landing in Taiwan.

The plane which departed from the southern municipality of Kaohsiung at 17:43 local time (09:43 GMT),lost contact with controllers at 19:06 and had originally aborted its initial landing before finally crashing near Magong airport on the outlying Penghu island, BBC reports.

  A total of 54 passengers and 4 crew members are reported to have been on board the fatal flight with 47 people reported dead and 11 injured.

 Details of the cause of the crash are still sketchy at the moment, however rescue operations are currently underway at the scene of the crash
