The Director General of the NYSC has said that any corper caught with fake medical documents would be punished
Intending members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who plan to falsify medical documents might not like the consequences of their action.
The Director General of the NYSC, Johnson Olawuni has said that any corps member caught with fake medical reports would be punished.
Prospective
NYSC members have formed the habit of claiming to be sick all for the
purpose of securing posting or redeployment to a state or area of their
choice.
The DG said yesterday that many of the
medical reports submitted by corps members were discovered to be fake
with some of the hospitals mentioned in them found to be non-existent.
He said:
“I
wish to make it clear that medical papers submitted for the purpose of
seeking for relocation will be subjected to thorough scrutiny and any
case of forgery will be visited with commensurate punishment in line
with the NYSC bye-law.”
Mr. Olawuni also announced that this year’s Batch B orientation of prospective corps members, with 96,000 candidates participating, would commence early next month.
